Two time national WORCS series champion Josh Frederick suffered multiple injuries in an accident while competing in the third round of the '09 Quad Cross series on Memorial Day weekend. Frederick sustained a broken tibia and fibia, broke six ribs and suffered a punctured lung. He underwent surgery early this week and is recovering in the hospital.

ATVRacin'Extra WORCS correspondent Mark Williams spoke with Frederick on Wednesday and reports that Frederick is disappointed to say the least.
Josh Frederick currently leads the 2009 WORCS series championship standings and was headed for his third consecutive championship in the series. In a statement Mark Williams reported that, "This is definitely a setback for Josh, but with his drive and determination, he will surely come back stronger than ever."
