SCOTT USA AND ACERBIS ITALIA SPA CREATE ALLIANCE

(7/19/2004)

SCOTT USA enters into a strategic alliance with Acerbis Italia Spa, increasing the market penetration of Acerbis Plastica products while streamlining its business in the United States.

"We are very pleased to further build our relationship with Acerbis and look forward to the continued growth of these brands, states Scott Watanabe, vice president of the Scott USA motorsports division.

After achieving important commercial goals in Europe, the two will create a new and common sales network which will allow important synergies. Scott USA will assume responsibility for all sales, marketing, and administration duties in its Ketchum, Idaho, location. All Acerbis motocross products will be distributed by Scott USA's facility in Clearfield, Utah. Effective September 1, 2004, Acerbis USA will phase out its San Diego location.

The two companies have had strong relations for the past two decades. Acerbis Italia, an Albino, Italy-based company, has been in the motorcycle business since 1973.

All inquiries should be directed to Scott I. Watanabe—vice president of the Scott USA motorsports division—at 208-622-1000.
