According to Arctic Cat's web site, Arctic Cat is voluntarily recalling approximately 45,000 ATVs. The ball joints on the front suspension can fail, causing loss of control. The web site says that Arctic Cat has received 73 reports of broken front suspensions, 10 of which resulted in injuries.
The 2002 year models to be recalled are red or green with the following names: 250, 300, 300 Massey Ferguson, 375, 400, 400i, 500, TBX 500 and 500i. Arctic Cat sold these ATVs from June 2001 and June 12, 2002. Owners should have their ATV name and 13-digit model number available when they call or visit Arctic Cat’s web site at http://www.arcticcat.com to see if their ATV is included in the recall. Or you can call (800) 210-5941 between 8am and 5pm CT.
If you have what you believe to be a model that is affected by the recall, Arctic Cat recommends that you stop riding it immediately. Registered owners are also being notified by mail.
