2011 HONDA TRX300X (2009 model, $5299)

Honda’s 300 has been around longer than most of the people who ride them. That makes it a proven commodity for semi-experienced riders who want a little performance and can deal with a manual clutch. It has a five-speed gearbox with reverse. It doesn’t break, and if it did, it can be fixed with a butter knife and Super Glue.
