Dirt Wheels Staff,
I very much enjoyed the unbiased reporting in your article
on “Top Dog 4 X 4 Shootout.” As the owner of both a Polaris and a
Yamaha Grizzly I couldn’t agree more with your assessment of the two
quads. What I would especially like
to praise you about is your frank reporting of the fuel economy. Everyone seems to leave this important
issue out of their comparisons. Without
naming brands, I can tell you I’m definitely getting tired of carrying an
extra gas can with me on every ride I take. With so many choices today of high
quality, great performing quads available, you can be certain that fuel economy
will be a major consideration when I buy my next quad. Keep up the great factual reporting.

Thanks for the letter Ron. Yes, we too hate when a ride
gets cut short due to the lack of fuel or a breakdown. We certainly
like that Polaris is so aggressive with improving their machines. And
from the looks of things they are listening to owners like you and
testers like us. We expect Polaris will look into fuel economy issues
that the heavy Sportsman's have. Other than that though, the Sportsman
is a great machine.
